First of many

Our little boy went on his first school trip this week and he was ever so proud. The trip was to the SupaSave where the kids all bought fruit to make fruit kebabs this week. And he had a big cup of Milo all to himself!

He said in the bus I sat next to Noah and on the way back I sat next to Noah again!

Ayden's Mah and Pah went to Supersave later in the morning and we duly notified by the staff that Ayden was there with his class. That's Brunei!

Christmas Kids Hash 2010

Iman and Jack got a chance to briefly chat with Santa this afternoon at the Christmas kids hash but as expected Ayden didn't want to get too close!

Iman having been unwell didn't go on the run with Ayden, Jack and myself so stayed relatively clean for most of the afternoon/evening.

Unlike these two who both rolled around in the mud. The picture above was taken soon after the run - which they both walked/ran all by themselves. And the picture below I took soon before Ayden was due to collect his first trophy!

As predicted Ayden refused to collect the trophy in public (we have been through this for a while) but he's pretty chuffed!

And the finale was an impromptu bonfire!

Iman's First Sailing Lesson

Our Sunday mornings will never be the same again! Children's sailing at the Yacht Club kicks off at 10am and despite having a late night on Saturday, we managed to get there. Unfortunately there was very little wind and they were out in the water for no more than 15 mins. She did manage a lot of little circles and despite knocking her head off the boom did stay out there. Hopefully she will get the hang of it in a few weeks!

Football Funday 2010

We knew it would be a matter of time before our participation on Football Funday would be more than browsing the stalls, having a burger and trying to avoid the heat. Last sunday Iman played in the RBRC girls team - herself and her other 5 team mates were the youngest team in the girls U11 and they did fantastically well against the older girls drawing two matches and losing one but conceding only 1 goal!

International Day 2010

It was International Day last week, a special one being Ayden's first and and the first of many for all three together. The day started with the usual parade for the junior school.

The question the night before every year is "what to wear". It's rugby shirt vs the baju Melayu and the rugby shirt is winning hands down every year!

Ayden was not so sure about the whole thing and was very shy (we had to hide taking the pictures for fear he would run off).

Iman chose to go as an Irish jockey - thank god for the Indian tailors who made this in 2 days!

JIA Shanghai

We found this fairly new stylish boutique hotel and decided to give it a go. (Interestingly while waiting for our flight we found out that there is a subtle Bruneian connection). The decor was amazingly stylish and chic and the rooms very comfortable though there was nothing in terms of a view and the service was at times frustrating. Great location for a first trip but don't think we will be back a second time.

KK Swimming

Iman as part of the JIS team took part in a swimming competition in KK last weekend. There were about 10 clubs there from all over Sabah, one from Miri and ourselves from Brunei. Iman was in the age 7 & below category and swam only 22m races. She did fairly well getting 3 bronze medals in her individual races, a bronze in the medley relay and a gold in freestyle relay. I had one very happy girl! And even better everyone in the eventually got a medal and the JIS came third overall (thanks really to the two exceptional brothers that came first in all their races!)
